BOARDING POLICIES (A SUMMARY)

Shay's Play and Stay expects total honesty regarding your dog’s behavior before your dog’s stay.

If you are worried about how your dog will settle in, a trial stay is recommended (1 full day/1 overnight) at the standard rate.

Applicable Forms: All dogs must have complete, up-to-date boarding form, vet records, and WAIVER on file. To obtain/download applicable forms please click here.

Reservations: We require reservations due to the limited number of reserved spaces available. Please cancel your reserved spot ASAP if your vacation plans have changed.

In General:

  • Dogs must have all necessary vaccinations

  • Dogs must be in a good condition of health. (No coughing, vomiting, diarrhea 48 hours prior to arrival at the facility).

  • Shay's Play and Stay is unable to accept dogs with known aggression problems towards people or other dogs

  • We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time for any reason.

Behavior: All dogs must be non-aggressive. Owners will certify their dogs have not harmed or shown any aggressive or threatening behavior towards any person or any other dogs.

Drop-Off/Pick-Up: A late check-out fee of $20.00/ hr will apply if picked up late (after the agreed upon departure time). The dog's Owner must provide advanced authorization to allow anyone else to pick up their dog.

Food &Treats: Please bring your dogs' current food labeled with feeding instructions (amount per serving/ servings per day). We provide our guests with the occasional treat during the stay - Please let us know, in advance, if you do NOT want your dog to have any treats. PLEASE INFORM US IF YOUR DOG IS ALLERGIC TO CERTAIN TYPES OF FOOD/TREATS.

Health: All dogs must be clean and in good health (no coughing, vomiting, diarrhea forty-eight (48) hours prior to arrival), and must not have fleas (we require that your dog receive some form of flea treatment plan - please consult your veterinarian for more information about flea treatment options). Owners will certify that their dogs are in good health and have not been ill with a communicable condition in the last thirty (30) days. Dogs that have been ill with a communicable condition in the last thirty (30) days will require a veterinary certificate of health to be admitted or re-admitted.

Legal: Our Policies, Procedures, Services and Rates may change from time to time. While we will attempt to notify you of these changes, it is ultimately your responsibility to check with us or on our website regularly so that you are aware of our most current Policies, Procedures, Services and Rates.


Your dog may NOT be a good fit for boarding if he/she:


.... Has a serious health condition (i.e. Epilepsy, Cancer, Diabetes, Dementia)


.... Has aggression towards people/other animals


.... Eats his own/other dogs feces


....Is over 45 lbs (we only board small dogs)


.... Is not on flea/tick treatment


.... Has SEVERE separation anxiety
